Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#702) challenge. This week, Jan has a sweet color combination for us to play with.

Inspiration for my design: Alphabet (Letter J) for Juvenile…make a kid suitable card; Facebook Stampin’ Through The Catalog – upcoming featured stamp set – Happiest Day; and bringing it all together, the current TGIF (#485) sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
- Accent Mat (1): (5¼” x 4”) Flirty Flamingo cardstock.
- Accent Mat (2): (5⅛” x 3⅞”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
- Split Strip Panel: (7” x 5”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
- Using the Large-Tipped Water Painter Brush, the panel was painted Ombre style with Soft Sea Foam, Lemon Lolly and Flirty Flamingo inks.
- Once dry, with the process speeded up with the Heat Tool, the Stars image was added to the panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The Panel was trimmed and cut into strips. Sizes: (1¼” x 3¾”); (1⅝” x 3¾”); and (2” x 3¾”).
- Shape – Circle: (2¼” x 2¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
- The sentiment, Wishing you the happiest birthday, was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- Decoration – Dragonflies: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper scraps.
- The Dragonfly Outline image was stamped three times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the Wings In-Fill images were stamped with Lemon Lolly and Flirty Flamingo inks.
- The Dragonflies were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. A little ribbon strip – (3⅞” x ¼”) Soft Sea Foam Speckled piece of patterned paper from the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper pack, and On-Line Exclusive product, was added to compliment the card and the Dragonflies were popped up with Dimensionals.
A sweet and whimsical birthday card with magical dragonflies suitable for a young lady.

What a lovely birthday card, I love the motif of dragonflies. Their colourful wings go so well with the shading in the background, and those stars really do create a sparkling atmosphere. Great colour scheme alltogether, and great sentiment, too. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.
Hugs, Veronika
