Friends For Life

Welcome back!  It’s Friday!!  Any great plans for the weekend?

We have a fun day planned for tomorrow, weather permitting, and I am not sure that I will have time to play in the Studio…to that end, I created this card for the Atlantic Hearts (#589) sketch and the palette suggested by Creative Colour (#153).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Boho Blue cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
• Torn Strips: (5” x 1”)
  • Boho Blue and Moody Mauve patterned pieces of paper from the retired Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Lemon Lolly ink was added to a (3″ x 6″) piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with a Brayer and then dry-embossed with retired Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder cut into the strips and then torn.
• Sentiment – Friend: (2” x 6½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The cardstock was cut in half and adhered together (2” x 3¼”) and then die-cut with the Friend Word die from the Friends For Life Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. 

Loving all the texture from both the patterned paper and the embossing for a basic simple card in these complimentary colors.  A great little sketch to make use of your bits of patterned papers.
