Greetings Of The Season – Holiday Card

Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#472) Design Team.  Our weekly Catalog CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) of one the cards found on page 120 of the Annual Catalog.   We invite you to re-create it any way you like.

Inspiration: Jingle Belles (#2416) to use “Leftovers” – Holiday Bits and Bobs lying about and Colors selected from the Color Dare (#611) Fancy Five Palette suggestions for my CASE.

Here is the result:

GREETINGS OF THE SEASON – REASON FOR THE SEASON – CT472 – JB2416 – CD611

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • Background Panel Split Strips.
    • Left – (1½” x 5½”) Cherry Cobbler & Shaded Spruce Plaid patterned piece of paper from the retired Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. Center – (1¼” x 5½”) Cherry Cobbler Dotted patterned piece of paper from the retired Christmas Classics Designer Series Paper pack. Right – (1¼” x 5½”) Shaded Spruce Dotted patterned piece of paper also from the retired Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Ribbon Banner: (4” x ⅜”) retired Brushed Gold cardstock scrap hand-flagged with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Mat: (2⅛” x 1⅝”) retired Brushed Gold cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment Block: (2” x 1½”) Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Season’s Greetings, from the Greetings Of The Season stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink.
  • Shapes – Poinsettias: Very Vanilla cardstock scraps.
    • The Poinsettia Outline image from the retired Reason For The Season stamp set was stamped three times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The Poinsettia Petals and Floral Centers were colored, respectively with the Light Petal Pink and Light Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends Markers. The Poinsettia In-Fill image and the Leaves In-Fill image was stamped with Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce inks, respectively.
    • The Poinsettia were then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and two of the Poinsettia Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals

Loving the Sketch and swapping out the pretty soft coloring for a bolder Holiday coloring really changes the look.
