Mediterranean Blooms – It’s your Day

Welcome back!  I have a fun card for you today and it is all about pretty papers.

I am playing with a new challenge, Love Those Pretty Papers (#1) and combining it with the Sunday Stamps (#339) Colors and Inspiration Photo and the Seize The Birthday (#289) Optional Choice of Fruit.

I selected the Tuesday Morning (#765) sketch and sharing with Ellibelle’s Corner (July) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (5¼” x 4”) Basic Gray cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5⅛” x 3⅞”) Mosaic patterned piece of paper from the retired Moroccan Designer Series Paper pack featuring many of the colors: Terra Cotta (Cajun Craze); Warm Yellow (Delightful Dijon); and Beige (Very Vanilla).
• Cross Strip Accent Mat: (1⅞” x 4⅛”) Azure Afternoon cardstock.
• Cross Strip: (1¾” x 4”) Diamond patterned piece of patterned paper, also from the retired Moroccan Designer Series Paper pack featuring a Bright Blue (Dapper Denim); Terra Cotta (Cajun Craze); and Beige (Very Vanilla).
• Focal Image – Oranges: Orange Fruit patterned piece of paper from the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sprig of three Oranges was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
•  Sentiment Label Accent Mat (1): (1⅞” x 1”) Azure Afternoon cardstock scrap.
•  Sentiment Label Accent Mat (2): (1¾” x ⅞”) Diamond patterned piece of paper scrap.
• Sentiment Label: (1⅝” x ½”) Cajun Craze cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, It’s Your Day, from the Penciled Pear stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Oranges were popped up with Dimensionals and small Peach Pie 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added to the Orange Blossoms for a bit of bling.

What fun to dip into my collection of pretty papers.  I confess that I am a hoarder and am often hard pressed to cut into them.  The Mediterranean Mosaics and Oranges create a very warm and sunny Birthday card.
