Sketched Butterflies – Summer Birthday

Design Team time.  Catching up with the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#469).  The card we are case-ing can be found on page 38 of the Annual Catalog.   Each week, a card sample from the catalog is selected and we invite you to re-create it any way you like.

The Tic Tac Toe (#251) board line: Butterfly, Border and Yellow set the path for the choices taken with this card.

Keeping the card design minimal, I am sharing it with Addicted to CAS (#262) Summer Theme; AAA Cards (#269) Summer Colors; Shopping Our Stash (#526) Summer Theme; and Krafty Chicks (#725) to create a clean and simple card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Border Accents: (3¾” x ½”) Dotted Crushed Curry patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2025 Regals Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Focal Panel: (3¾” x 4½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Scattered Butterflies image from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set was stamped twice with Crushed Curry ink.Using a Blending Brush, Lemon Lolly ink was added to the Panel.
  • The sentiment, Wishing you a beautiful birthday, from the same stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Decoration – Butterfly: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The large Butterfly image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with both Lemon Lolly and Crushed Curry inks applied with Blending Brushes.
  • The Butterfly was die-cut with the coordinating die from the Sketched Butterflies Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Butterfly was popped up with Dimensionals. 

My Butterfly Bushes are full of pretty yellow butterflies, and this is such a lovely part of my summer garden.
