Happiest Day – Better Days

Round Three and my stint as a Guest Designer with the Alphabet Challenge comes to an end.  It has been a pleasure to play along with this group of talented Designers.

This time around, Veronika has chosen the word “Gentleman” for the Letter “G” and is looking for suitably masculine cards.

Inspiration: I chose the Sketch Saturday (#753) layout which led to the choice of stamp set, the Creative Colours (#147) palette because they suited the image, and I am sharing this card with Cupcake Inspirations (#597) for their Anything Goes theme.

Here is the result:

BETTER DAYS – HAPPIEST DAY – ALPHABET Letter G – SS753 – CCC147 – CIC597

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4¼” x 3⅛”) Smoky Slate cardstock
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 3”) Blueberry Bushel Diagonal Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired 2023/2024 Regals Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Tag Mat: (3½” x 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock die-cut with the Oval Window die from the Garden Meadows Dies set, and On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The bottom of the die-cut was shortened to measure (3¾”) in length by running the cardstock through the Cut & Emboss Machine a second time.
  • Focal Tag: (2½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Oval Window Scene image from the retired Better Days stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The coordinating In-Fill images were stamped.  Sun – Daffodil Delight ink; Top Hill – Smoky Slate ink; Middle Hill– 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Blueberry Bushel ink; and Bottom Hill – Blueberry Bushel ink.
    • The Oval Window was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Label: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, So excited for you, from the Happiest Day stamp set was stamped separated and stacked with Blueberry Bushel ink as was the Flourish image from the same stamp set.
    • The sentiment was die-cut with the (1” x 1”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and a bit of retired Blueberry Bushel 2018/2020 In-Color Ribbon (still in my stash) was added to the top of the Tag.
