Playing in the Rain – Sending Sunshine & Smiles

Happy Sunday!  It is very hot here today and I am taking refuge in the Studio and having a play.

The Atlantic Hearts (#582) Sketch had me a little perplexed.  Wasn’t sure what to do with it. 

However, upon reflection I opted for the Cookie Challenge (#193) Theme and chose the Summer Popsicle Colors from the Four Seasons (June) Mood Board to complete my card design.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Splatter 3D Embossing Folder.
• Cross Strip: (1½” x 5¼”) Coastal Cabana Floral patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2025 Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Accent Mat: (2¾” x 3¾”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (2½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Rabbit image from the Playing in the Rain was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Rabbit – Light Petal Pink, Jacket – Dark Daffodil Delight and Puddle – Light Smoky Slate.
  • The sentiment, Sunshine to brighten your day, from the retired Sending Smiles stamp set was also stamped in separate sections with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Corner Pieces: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Flower and Cloud images, also from the Playing in the Rain stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Clouds – Light Smoky Slate, Flowers – Dark Daffodil Delight and Leaves – Light Summer Splash.
  • The images were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers and one Cloud were popped up with Dimesionals.  Summer Splash and Shy Shamrock 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added to complete the card.

A fun and cute pick me up card!
