Summer Fresh Florals – What I Love

Welcome back!  On Tuesday, a whole round of new challenges pop up, and I got inspired to create this card for them.

First up…Shopping Our Stash (#524) is asking us to use buttons.  It has been a minute since they were all the rage.  Coincidently, the Tuesday Morning Sketch (#761) also features a button.

Now what?  I chose the “Pink” palette from Color Dare (#604) along with elements suggested by Heart’s Quest (#56) and the Retro Rubber (#233) Tic Tac Toe Board and chose to share the card with Stampin’ Up! Only (#354) featuring Heat Embossing.

Here is the result:

A LITTLE LACE – WHAT I LOVE – SOS524 – TMS761 – CD604 – HQCB56 – RRCB233 – SUOC354

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • For Heart’s Quest, I added hand drawn Stripes using the Dark Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • Cross Strip: (4¼” x ¾”) Basic Black cardstock dry-embossed with the new Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder for Retro Rubber.
  • Focal Panel: (2¾” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛” x 4”) Rectangle die from the recently retired Radiating Stitches Dies set also for Retro Rubber.
    • The summer sweet Triple Floral image from the retired A Little Lace stamp set (circa 2019) and the sentiments, Know what I love? and You, from the retired What I Love stamp set (circa 2016) were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder for Heart’s Quest, Retro Rubber, and Stampin’ Up! Only.
    • The Flowers were colored by blending both the Light and Dark Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends Markers for Retro Rubber.
  • Semi-Circle Trim: Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo cardstock scraps die-cut with the (⅞”) Circle die, also from the Radiating Stitches Dies set for Heart’s Quest.
  • Button: (⅝”) retired Melon Mambo colored button from my stash for both Shopping Our Stash and Tuesday Morning.
  • Twine: A length of Black Baker’s Twine was knotted through the button holes and tied into a small Bow for Retro Rubber and Tuesday Morning.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Focal image and Trim piece was popped up with Dimensionals.

What fun to be inspired by and combine challenges for a pretty friendship card.
