Poised Peony – Unbounded Love

Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#694) challenge.  This week, LeAnne has opted for a CAS (clean and simple) card with an Encouragement or Sympathy theme.

I am a tad sad.  I moved to the US in 2006 and my first and therefore longest American friend just recently passed away.  Her love, caring and unconditional support was so meaningful. She will be so missed by me and many others. She was my Bestie and in so many ways the music to my heart.

I have created this card with her in mind and selected to add the Addicted to CAS (#260) Musical theme

and the Facebook Colour INKspiration (#167) colors and share with Color Dare (#605) for their Black and White plus one color option.

Here is the result:

POISED PEONY – UNBOUNDED LOVE – PP694 – ATCAS260 – CI167 – CD605

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The sentiment, With Sympathy, from the Unbounded Love stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the card front.
  • Accent Corner: (2⅝” x 2⅝”) Black and White Dotted piece of retired patterned paper cut on the diagonal that I found in my Scrap Bin.  I cannot recall from which Designer Series Pack it came from.
  • Accent Square: (2½” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2⅜” x 2⅜”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set then dry-embossed with the retired Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Decoration – Flower: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The medium sized Peony image from the Poised Peony stamp set was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Flower – Light and Dark Pretty in Pink and Leaves – Light Basic Black.
    • The Peony was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base with the Peony Flower popped up with Dimensionals.

A delicate little clean and simple sympathy card.
