Field Flowers – So Many Smiles

Welcome back! Happy Thursday to you all…

Playing with a favorite challenge today – Retro Rubber (#231), this round color and getting to rummage about in my collection of older stamp sets.

My choices were influenced by Crafter’s Café (#308) with the Smile theme and the Freshly Made (#638) Sketch.  I am also sharing this card with Krafty Chicks (#718) with their Anything Goes theme.

Here is the result:

FIELD FLOWERS – DETAILED WITH LOVE – RRCB231 – CCCB308 – FMS638 – KCC718

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Floral Stem image from the retired Field Flowers stamp set (circa 2011) was stamped with Shade Spruce ink and colored with the Light Shade Spruce Stampin’ Blend Marker.
    • The Two-Step Flower images from the same stamp set were stamped.
      • Top Bloom – Outline: Berry Burst; In-Fill: 2nd Generation Fresh Freesia (stamped off once).
      • Bottom Bloom – Outline: Gorgeous Grape; In-Fill: 2nd Generation Highland Heather.
      • Floral Center image was stamped on each with Fresh Freesia (Top) and Highland Heather (Bottom).
      • Using the Take Your Pick Tool Hobby Knife Tip, the right edge of the Top Flower was cut.
  • Shape – Rectangle: (1⅞” x 2”) Fresh Freesia Water-colored patterned piece of paper from the Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack was slipped under the cut Floral edge.
  • Shape – Oval: (2” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Oval sentiment image, So many of my Smiles begin with You, from the retired Detailed With Love stamp set (circa 2018) was stamped with Highland Heather ink and fussy-cut with Paper Snips and also slipped under the cut Floral edge.
  • Cross Strips: (2½”) Berry Burst and Petal Pink retired Metallic Edged Ribbon.  The Petal Pink Ribbon was colored with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend Marker.
    • The Ribbons were cut on the diagonal and fitted in behind and on top of the Sentiment Oval with a Mini Glue Dot and Stampin’ Seal and fastened to the back of the Panel with Scotch Tape.
  • Additional Flowers were stamped, as above, fussy cut and added on top of the original Flowers for more texture, popped up with Dimensionals.

A lovely friendship card…
