Sweet Love of Cupcakes

Well, it’s Friday!  Hoping you have a wonderful weekend and an opportunity to be creative.

Today, I started with the Just Add Ink (#702) Sketch.  Three playful shapes.  But what should they be?

Next, I selected the color palette suggested by the Facebook Colour INKspirations (#165) team.  Isn’t that photograph of the Flowers beautiful?  Yet, I really didn’t want to create a floral card…

Over at Heart’s Quest (#54), there were some suggestions.  I choose Cupcakes from Part A and the sentiment Sweet Love from Part B to bring everything all together.

Here is the result:

COOL TREATS – CALL ME CUPCAKES FRAMELITS DIES – JAI702 – CI165 – HQCB54

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Shy Shamrock cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4¼” x 5½”) Petal Pink Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The word, Sweet, from the retired Cool Treats stamp set was stamped with Shy Shamrock ink and again with Versamark ink, slightly off-side for a shadow effect and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Shapes – Circles: Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Images – Cupcakes: Call Me Cupcakes Framelits Dies – retired
    • Wrapper die: Shy Shamrock Striped paper from the 2024/2026 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
    • Cake die: Petal Pink Mini Floral paper from the retired Hello Friendly Designer Series Paper pack.
    • Frosting die: Peach Pie Dotted paper, also from the 2024/2026 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Love: Shy Shamrock cardstock scrap.
    • The word, love, from the retired Well Written Framelits Dies set was die-cut.

The Cupcakes were put together on the base Circle Shapes with the Frosting popped up with Dimensionals. Then all of the elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

Pretty colors for some “sweet” treats to celebrate almost anything.

  2. A really fun card, fun colours and sweet theme. I really like the way you have created the shadow effect on the word Sweet – and made it look like the word if frosted. Chantell Just Add Ink
