A Happy Hooray

A brand-new week.  Happy Monday!

Yesterday, I was playing with the Color Throwdown (#787) colors.  These three make up a trifecta of my favorites, yet I struggled with them.  I love the imagery in the inspiration photo.  The color blocking is so Retro and that is where I got my inspiration.

Here is the result:

A HAPPY HOORAY – SWIRLY BIRD – CTD787

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Old Olive cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Basic White cardstock.
    • I selected the retired stamp set Swirly Bird for the retro feel of some of the stamp images.
    • The Large Swirl image was stamped with 2nd Generation retired Taken with Teal ink.
    • The Medium Solid Splotch image was stamped with Old Olive ink and the coordinating Fine Swirl image was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Small Swirl image was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink.
    • The Double Lined Triangle image was also stamped with 2nd Generation Taken with Teal ink.
    • The sentiment, Hooray, from the retired A Happy Hooray stamp set was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink.

And that was it! #simplestamping. Just stamps, ink and paper.

I kind of love the funky nature of this card.  Who shall we celebrate?
