Fable Friends – By My Side

Welcome back!  It is a brand-new week and I am still catching up.

Today, I am playing with Alphabet (Letter Z); Color Throwdown (#785); and Freshly Made Sketches (#628) for a fun and colorful card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Melon Mambo cardstock.
• Square Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 3⅝”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
• Square Panel: (3½” x 3½”) Granny Apple Green Dashed patterned piece of paper from the 2023 / 2024 Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Shape – Circle: Basic White cardstock.
  • The Young Ducks image from the retired Fable Friends stamp set was stamped onto a Silicone Craft Sheet with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the cardstock was pressed onto the image for a reverse / mirror image.
  • The Young Ducks were also stamped again, in the same manner, onto Masking Paper and fussy-cut with Paper Snips to create Masks.
  • The Young Ducks were masked and the Momma Duck image, also from Fable Friends, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink over them, to be in the background.
  • The Masks were removed, and the scene was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Both Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green.  Feathers and Shadows were added with retired Light Soft Sky.
  • The scene was die-cut with one of the new (3¼”) Circle dies from the Spotlight on Nature Dies set coming in May.
• Sentiment Banner: Melon Mambo cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Here for you, from the By My Side stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment was then die-cut with the (1½” x ½”) Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment Banner was popped up with Dimensionals.

All together now, Momma Duck is here for her whole brood of wayward ducklings.
