Playing in the Rain – Oh, Happy Day!

Hi!  I am actually getting the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#444) done on Tuesday…Yipee!

I created a card for the Alphabet (Letter U) challenge with the suggested sketch found on page 54 of the new Mini Catalog.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
• Background Strip: (2⅝” x 5½”) Old Olive cardstock.
• Background Panel: (3⅝” x 5”) Floral Sky Card Base from the December 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – All the Best cut in half and trimmed.
  • The Fox and Umbrella image from the Playing in the Rain stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Focal Image – Fox and Umbrella: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper scrap.
  • The Fox and Umbrella image was stamped again but this time with Stazon Jet Black ink because it is waterproof.
  • The image was water-colored using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush picking up ink from Blocks pressed into the ink.  Colors Chosen: Umbrella – Balmy Blue; Hat & Slicker – Crushed Curry; and the Fox – Smoky Slate.
  • Once dry, the Fox and her Umbrella were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Label: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Oh, Happy Day, from the same stamp set was stamped with Old Olive ink and die-cut with the (1⅝” x 1⅝”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were arranged to resemble the sketch.  The Umbrella, Fox and Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.

We are expecting rain and warmer temperatures in the next few days, so that will make me happy.  A pretty little Spring card.
