Frosty Friends – Warm Heart

Happy Saturday!  Bright and Sunny here, but oh so cold.  So unusual for South Carolina.  Reminds me of winter days back in Canada.

A few challenges for today: Can You Handle the Pressure (#47) with a twist to include Snow People; The Card Concept (#203) with a New Year Love theme and winter colors; and the Tuesday Morning (#740) Sketch to bring it all together.

Here is the result:

FROSTY FRIENDS – SPIRITED SNOWMEN – CYHTP47 – TCC203 – FMS740

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • Accent Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Panel: (3¾” x 2⅝”) Pecan Pie cardstock and (3¾” x ½”) Poppy Parade cardstock scrap.
    • I chose to use the retired Hearts Border Punch to add the decoration to the top of the Pecan Pie panel as opposed to the bottom scallops as suggested by the sketch.
    • The Poppy Parade cardstock was added to the back to highlight the Hearts.
  • Focal Panel: (3½” x 2”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The retired Frosty Friends stamp was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • Using my Black Fine-Tipped Liquid Gel Pen, the String of Christmas Lights was changed to a String of Hearts.
    • The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Light Balmy Blue for the Snow highlights and shadows; Light Pecan Pie for the Hat, Earmuffs and Rabbit; Light Real Red for the Birds, Heart, Scarf and Heart String; Light Shaded Spruce for the Hat, Scarf, Bowtie and Mistletoe; and Dark Calypso Coral for the Noses
  • Sentiment Label: (1¾” x ½”) Shaded Spruce cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, your friendship warms my heart, from the retired Spirited Snowmen stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The label was trimmed on the diagonal.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. Both the focal panel and the sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.

I have always loved the Frosty Friends stamp.  It just makes me smile.  Warm and happy vibes for the new year with a family full of love.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
