Lovely & Sweet – Birthday Wishes

Welcome back!  Had a rather busy day yesterday so I am off to the races today.

Challenges: Inspire Create (#159) to use product from the new Mini Catalog and/or the Sale-a-bration Brochure; Make My Monday (#217) for a Birthday theme; Cupcake Inspiration (#585) for the colors; Krafty Chicks (#699) for a clean & simple card and Crafter’s Cafe (#304) to include a Fancy Edge.

I opted for the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#443) suggestion for the sketch idea that can be found on page 70 of the new Mini Catalog.

Here is the result:

LOVELY & SWEET – STIPPED ROSES – ICC459 – MMM217 – CIC585 – KCC699 – CCCB304 – CT403

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock die-cut on all four sides with Stitched Zig-Zag die from the Basics Borders Dies set.
  • Shapes – Circles: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • Three Floral images from the Sweet & Lovely stamp set were stamped with Smoky Slate ink.
    • The Flowers were colored with both the Light and Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The Flowers were die-cut with the Stitched Dotted Circle die from the Everyday Details Dies set.
  • Circle Accent Mats: Lemon Lolly cardstock scraps punched out using the (1½”) Circle Punch.
  • Sentiment Label: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the Stitched Dotted Rectangle die, also from the Everyday Details Dies set.
    • The Label was shortened by additional die-cutting to approximately (1½”) in length.
    • The greeting, Happy Birthday, from the Stippled Roses stamp set was stamped with the aid of the Stamp-a-ma-jig Positioning Tool and using the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.
    • Five tiny Dots were added by hand using the same Stampin’ Write Marker.

All elements were arranged to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.

A quiet and soft feminine birthday card.

  1. What a delightful card. I like how you created your background piece and then added the pretty circles on top. Thanks for joining us at MMM, Johanna DT
