Merry Café – Spirited Snowmen Hugs

Welcome back!  A brand-new work week and I have a fun winter card for you today.

Sketch: Sunday Stamps (#326); Theme: Caffeinated Christmas Cards (#25), If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#188) and Inspired By (#270) for both theme and colors.

Here is the result:

SPIRITED SNOWMEN – MERRY CAFE – PHRASES FOR ALL – SSC326 – CCCC25 – CC188 – IB270

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Sweet Sorbet cardstock dry-embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.
    • The Snowflakes were highlighted with Craft White ink applied with a Blending Brush.
  • Focal Image – Coffee Cup & Lid: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Happy Huggy Snowman from the retired Spirited Snowmen stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Coffee Cup from the retired Merry Café stamp set was stamped around the Snowman.
    • The Snowman Coffee Cup was colored with Stampin’ Blends MarkersColors: Snowman & his shadow – Light Soft Sky (retired); Arms & Legs – Bronze; Boots – Light Basic Black; Nose – Dark Calypso Coral; Hat, Scarf & Buttons – Light Azure Afternoon and Sweet Sorbet; and Cup – Light and Dark Pool Party.
    • The Snowflake image, also from the Spirited Snowmen stamp set, was stamped several times with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Coffee Lid, also from the Merry Café stamp set, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker.
    • Both the Coffee Cup and Lid were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Banner: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Banner was die-cut with one of the Banner dies from the retired Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies set.
    • The Banner details and edging were drawn on with the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker.
    • The sentiment, sending hugs & love when words aren’t enough, from the Phrases for All stamp set was curved to fit and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped sketch.  The Banner, Lid and Cup were all popped up with Dimensionals.

Who wouldn’t love some winter hugs from this happy little guy?
