My first post as a 2024 Guest Designer with Paper Players (#671). The theme is Cheers to the Years. Yesterday was my own Birthday and I am certainly cheering to the years!
I am also starting the year off with Stampin’ Up’s Simple Stamping challenge to use just Stamps, Paper, Ink and adding an item from the new Sale-a-bration Brochure and I chose the free Sunny Days Designer Series Paper as it has the colors that match the current Color Dare (#581) challenge. Bringing it all together, I selected the Global Design Project (#426) Sketch layout stepping up the card one notch by adding some ribbon.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Side Panels: (1¼” x 5½”) Pool Party Diagonal Striped patterned piece of paper from the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack.
- Accent Strips: (½” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock scraps.
- Focal Panel: (3” x 5½”) Floral patterned piece of paper also from the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack. Colors: Pool Party (for Lagoon), Shaded Spruce (for Journey), Petal Pink (for Peach) and Poppy Parade / Sweet Sorbet (for Rosy).
- Sentiment Label: (2¾” x ⅝”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped with Poppy Parade ink.
- Using a Sponge Dauber, the edges were lightly colored with Pool Party ink.
- Embellishment: (4” x ¼”) Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Ribbon was secured with scotch tape and the Sentiment was shifted a little to the left and popped up with Dimensionals.
A fresh and pretty birthday card.
