Christmas Joy

Welcome back!  A rainy day…everyone is enjoying the books they got for Christmas, and I am nipping in to create a card for a few open challenges.

Layout: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#440) Sketch found on page 22 of the September – December Mini Catalog; Theme: Farm Quest (#42) Decorated Farmhouse and Paper Craft Crew (#549) Tic Tac Toe selections: Sequins, Trees and Rhinestones.

Here is the result:

JOLLY GINGERBREAD – FESTIVAL OF TREES – CT440 – FQCB42 – PCC549

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Left Block Accent Mat: (3⅜” x 3⅜”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Left Block: (3¼” x 3¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Pine Tree image from the retired Festival of Trees stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.
    • The Panel was then dry-embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Right Block Accent Mat: (3” x 3”) Sweet Sorbet cardstock.
  • Right Block: (2⅞” x 2⅞’0 Basic White cardstock.
    • The Gingerbread House image from the November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Jolly Gingerbread stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The House edges were masked with a Post-It-Note and additional Pine Trees were stamped.
    • The Gingerbread House was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Chimney, Roof and Door – Dark Copper Clay; Roof, Gable and Garden Tiles – Light Copper Clay; House – Light Pecan Pie; Decoration – Light Sweet Sorbet; Windows and Casting – Light Daffodil Delight; and Path – Light Smoky Slate.
    • The Panel was also dry-embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Sentiment Banner: 2⅝” x ½”) Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, For Lots of Joy at Christmas, also from the Jolly Gingerbread stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Gold colored retired Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins were added to the Sentiment Banner and the DoorRhinestone Basic Jewels were colored with the Dark Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend Marker.  Dark Mossy Meadow was added to one of the red Rhinestones turning it a bit golden.  The Rhinestones were added to the Windows and the Door.

Hope you are enjoying the Holidays!!.

  1. Your country house looks so yummy!!! 🙂 Really, very cute! And I love those trees! I’m going to have to remember about dry embossing stamped scenes! Such a terrific combination of techniques and images! Thanks for participating at FQCB!–especially before and during the Christmas season! –Becca
