Season of Gratitude and Thanks

Happy Friday!  Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Are you an early prepper?  Have you baked your pies or put together your casserole dishes?  I am getting ready…

I am following the Recipe suggested by Double Trouble (#153) to add patterned paper, an embellishment or two, and chose my pumpkins for my pie.  For my sentiment, I selected the current TGIF (#447) Gratitude theme. Double Trouble is partnering with Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#632) for the sketch and I am sharing this card with Can You Handle The Pressure (#43) for their optional Thanksgiving theme as I picked both wet and dry embossing techniques.

Here is the result:

JUST MY TYPE – DT153 – TSOT632 – TGIFC447 – CYHTP43

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Early Espresso cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Orange Splattered piece of patterned paper from a gifted Creative Memories pack called Fresh Focus.
  • Side Panel: (2” x 4¾”) Circle Burst patterned piece of paper from the retired Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Rectangle 1: (2½” x 2¼”) Tangerine Tango cardstock scrap from my stash bin dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch patterned Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Rectangle 2: (2½” x 1¾” Early Espresso cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, thank you, from the Just My Type stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Decoration – Pumpkins: The Pumpkins were fussy-cut with Paper Snips from a patterned piece of paper from the retired Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Embellishments – Colored Rhinestones: Rhinestone Basic Jewels were colored with the retired Mocha Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  One Pumpkin was popped up with Dimensionals.

Here’s to hoping you have a truly delightful Thanksgiving.

  2. Beautiful Fall colors, papers and texture in your card, and the interpretation of your sketch is right on. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and Tuesday Morning Sketches. As much as I like pie, don’t cut up those pumpkins… lol.
