Lighting the Way – Thanks

Welcome back!  Another Thank You card for you.

Playing with Make My Monday (#213) for their theme; TGIF (#447) Gratitude inspiration; and selecting the Tuesday Morning Sketch (733) which I flipped to the horizontal position to better accommodate my design.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Highland Heather cardstock.
• Side Panel: (4” x 1¼”) Night of Navy Night Sky patterned piece of paper from the retired Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper pack.
• Top Panel: (3⅞” x 2⅛”) Purple Mountain patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack.
  • The sentiment, Thanks for lighting the way, from the Lighting the Way stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy ink.
• Bottom Panel: (3⅞” x 1¾”) Purple Tree Mountain patterned piece also from the same paper pack.
• Decoration – Lantern: Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock.
  • The Lantern was die-cut with the Lantern die from the Lighting the Way Dies set.
  • Using a Sponge Dauber, Lemon Lolly ink was added to a piece of Basic White cardstock.
  • The Lantern die was positioned over the colored paper and die-cut again for the Lantern Light areas.
  • A scrap piece of cardstock was adhered to the Cross Bands and the Lemon Lolly Light pieces were added in (paper-pieced).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped sketch.  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel was colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Marker and added to the Lantern which was popped up with Dimensionals.
