Welcome back! It has been a busy day. Just now getting a chance to blog about the card I made earlier today.
Sometimes I think there is a collective spirit running through the universe. Several challenges with similar elements are on my radar.
Just Add Ink (#678) is looking for Bright(s) and Friend. Festive Friday (#147) is celebrating World Hello Day and they too, have Bright(s) and a friendly sentiment request. Over at Stampin’ Up! Only (#339), the color challenge is to use Food related colors. Several are in the Brights collection. To bring it all together, I selected the Atlantic Hearts (#550) sketch which I flipped to better accommodate my selected shape.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Melon Mambo patterned piece of paper from the retired Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper pack.
- Three Cross Strips: White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon now retired.
- Shape – Tag: Lemon Lime Twist cardstock scrap die-cut with one of the Tag dies from the On-Line Exclusive Designer Tags Dies set.
- Decoration – Two Roses: (2½” x 3”) Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo and Berry Burst cardstocks.
- The Rose die, also from the same Dies set, was die-cut into all the colored cardstock pieces.
- The Granny Apple Green cut-out was adhered to the Basic White piece.
- All the other colors were paper-pieced into the cut-out to “color” the Roses.
- Once completed, the Roses were fussy-cut with Paper Snips to create the free-standing Rose element.
- Sentiment Label: (3” x 1”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the larger Label die from the Waves Dies set.
- The Hello greeting from the Happy Labels stamp set was stamped with Melon Mambo ink.
- The right edge of the Label was trimmed.
- Friend: Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap.
- The word friend from the retired Well Written Framelits Dies set was cut and adhered to the Sentiment Label.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the mirror image of the sketch. The paper-pieced Rose decoration was popped up with Dimensionals.
What a nice friendship card this turned out to be.
