Poppy Gratitude – A Tribute

Coming up very quickly is Remembrance Day and this is my very clean and simple acknowledgment.

My choices were influenced by the inspiration listing provided by Festive Friday (#146).

I opted to use today’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#433) sketch and share with Colorful Options (November) and Simply Clean & Simple (#5).

Here is the result:

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.
    • A Mask was created with the (2½”) Circle die from the Deckled Circles Dies set using Masking Paper.
    • Poppy Parade ink was added to the Circle opening with a Blending Brush.
    • The Floral Silhouette image from the retired Fast & Fabulous stamp set was added with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.  (This stamp set is a particular favorite of mine).
    • The sentiment, Thank you, from the Grassy Grove stamp set was also stamped with Versamark and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder. (The delicate font matched the fine-lined silhouette image very nicely).

The panels were adhered to the card base.  The simple stamping reflects the essence of the sketch.

I stand in awe of all that was accomplished and lost by our Service Men.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Fabulous CAS card, Jolanda. The large red circle is the perfect way to showcase the silhouette of flowers. So glad you shared this beauty with us at Festive Friday this week
