Floral Beauty – Birthday

Hi! Today is a Tuesday Design Team Day.  Working with the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#431) selection from page 17 of the September – December Mini Catalog.  Stampin’ Up! Catalogs are full of inspiration.  Give the layout a whirl.  Would love to see what you might make.

My card choices were inspired by Seize the Birthday (#271) theme and color palette.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Melon Mambo cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 3”) Lemon-Lime Twist Torn Paper patterned piece of paper from the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper pack.
• Focal Image/ Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Paper Floral Design patterned piece of paper, also from the Masterfully Made Designer Series paper pack.
  • The top edge was fussy-cut with Paper Snips around the Hot Pink Flowers.
• Sentiment Banner: (3¼” x 1”) Lemon-Lime Twist cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, from the Something Fancy stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink.
  • The Banner/Slide was die-cut with the (2¾” x ½”) Banner die from the Waves Dies set.

The patterned papers were adhered to the card base.  A length (approximately (4¼”) of retired Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon was threaded through the Banner/Slide and popped up with Dimensionals completing the card.
