Raven – Here For You

Tuesday Design Time.  Combining the Cardz 4 Guyz (#333) theme challenge with the Hand Stamped Sentiments (#425) sketch challenge this week.

Additionally, there are several Halloween theme challenges about, and I am sharing this card with them.  Festive Friday (#145); Inspire Create (#153) and Shopping Our Stash (#507).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Card Front: (4¼” x 5½”) Old Olive Newsprint patterned piece of paper from the retired Night Owl Designer Series Paper pack.
• Slanted Cross Strip: (4½” x ⅞”) Basic Black Smoke Curl patterned piece of paper from the retired Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper pack trimmed to fit.
• Banner: (2¼” x ¼”) Metallic Glitter Washi Tape.
  • The retired Washi Tape in the Silver color is (⅝”) wide and was cut to the narrow width and notched with Paper Snips.
• Shape: Headstone: (1½” x 2¼”) Old Olive Cross-Hatch Grid patterned piece of paper also from the retired Night Owl Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sentiment, I’m Always Here For You, from the retired Lots of Happy Card Kit was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment was punched out with the retired Note Tag Punch.

All elements were adhered to resemble the sketch.  The Banner was set behind the Sentiment which was popped up with Dimensionals. The inside of the card was finished off with the Iron Wrought Fence patterned piece of paper from the reverse side of Old Olive Newsprint patterned piece of paper.

Did you know that the Raven is known as a protector and guide in Celtic mythology?  Hence, the choice of sentiment.  Besides, if Ravens spook you, you might think that they are out to get you.
