Toile Tidings – ‘Tis The Season

Jumping from Fall into Christmas with a Vintage inspired card.

Several challenges with a Vintage theme:  Use Your Stuff (#491); Jingle Belles (#2318); Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#621); and I chose the colors from the Color Dare (#563) Tic Tac Toe board.

Here is the result:

BRIGHTEST GLOW – TOILE TIDINGS DSP – UYS491 – JB2318 – TSOT621 – CD563

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock (for Avocado).
  • Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Granny Apple Green cardstock dry-embossed with the new Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Trim: (4⅛” x 1”) Real Red cardstock scrap, two pieces (for Candy Apple).
  • Focal Panel: (4⅛” x 2½”) Real Red and Very Vanilla Vintage Holiday Scene patterned piece of paper from the retired Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper pack.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Pool Party ink (for Seabrook) was added to the scene for “Snow”.
  • Sentiment: Pool Party cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, ‘Tis The Season, from the Brightest Glow stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The sentiment was punched out with the retired (1¾” x ⅞”) Oval Punch.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Sentiment popped up with Dimensionals.  Additionally, a (6”) length of retired Scalloped Lace Trim was added around the Background Panel under the edge of the Focal Panel.

What fun to ride in a Horse-Drawn Sleigh.  Happy Holidays!

  7. What a lovely card, the vintage themed paper is so beautiful, the lace is the perfect touch and then that bold, embossed green really gives it a kick! So happy you could join our Old-Fashioned Christmas fun at Jingle Belles!
