Tropical Leaf – Animal Outing

One more for today!

How about a trip to the Jungle?  The theme for “J” at the Alphabet (Letter J) is Jungle Animals.  I picked the colors suggested by the Facebook SU! Colour (August) group and brought the two together with the current sketch at Freshly Made (#599).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”) Moody Mauve cardstock.
• Accent Strips: (4¼” x ⅜”) Old Olive cardstock scraps.
• Background Panel: (4¼” x 3¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Both the large and small Tropical Leaves from the On-Line Exclusive Tropical Leaf stamp set were randomly stamped.
  • The Large Leaf Base image was stamped with 2^nd Generation (stamped-off once) Old Olive ink and the coordinating Vein image was added on top with Old Olive ink.
  • Similarly, the Small Leaf Base image and coordinating Vein image were stamped with Moody Mauve ink.
  • The white space background of the panel was colored with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Marker.
• Rectangle Accent Mat: (2½” x 3⅛”) Old Olive cardstock scrap.
• Rectangle Panel – Focal Image: (2¼” x 3”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Rhinoceros and Bird image and the sentiment, Together We Make a Great Pair, from the retired Animal Outing stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The panel / scene was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors Chosen: Rhinoceros – Light Smoky Slate; Bird – Light Berry Burst; Grass – Dark Old Olive; and again, the Background was colored in with Light Daffodil Delight.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. Old Olive and Moody Mauve give the scene a lush feeling while the Daffodil Delight adds the heat.  Our colorful bird and friendly Rhino are happy to hang out with each other.
