Love & Sympathy

So many challenges due for tomorrow, so please indulge me with another card today.

Mixing up Tic Tac Toe (#218) with Color Throwdown (#752) and the Atlantic Hearts (#534) sketch for a soft and subtle sympathy card.

Here is the result:

LOVE & SYMPATHY – INSPIRED THOUGHTS – TTTC218 – CTD752 – AHSC534

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Split Background Panel: (1½” x 5¼”) and (2⅜” x 5¼”) Dotted patterned piece of Vellum from the retired Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum stack.
  • Shape – Elongated Octagon: (2½” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The delicate Floral image from the retired Love & Sympathy stamp set was inked with the Melon Mambo and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped.
    • The sentiment, With Heartfelt Sympathy, from the retired Inspired Thoughts stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink.
    • The image was die-cut with the (2⅜” x 4”) sized die from the Countryside Corners Dies set.
    • The edges of the die-cut were colored with Smoky Slate ink using a Sponge Dauber.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a version of the sketch flipped to the vertical position.  The Elongated Octagon was popped up with DimensionalsBrushed Brass Butterflies were added in lieu of other decoration and nine Rhinestone Basic Jewels were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers in the three colors; Dark Pecan Pie, Dark Lost Lagoon and Dark Melon Mambo and added for a bit of bling.

Never a card you want to make but always one that is handy to have in your stash.

  2. I love that you flipped the sketch on its side to create your card, so great! The simplicity of the single flower with the sentiment is beautiful! Thanks for playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC).
