Welcome back! A late post, a busy day. Had a great class and now I have time to play…
A couple of food related challenges are floating about in blog land, so I pulled out one of my favorite retired stamp sets, Infinite Goodness.
Paper Players (#649) for a CAS (clean and simple) Bon Appetit card featuring Edibles and Tic Tac Toe (#217) for the top line – Embossing, Fruit and/or Vegetable and Birthday theme. I selected the Sunday Stamps (#313) Colors and the CAS Colours & Sketches (#516) Layout to complete the card.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Focal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Pear image was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
- The image was stamped again onto Masking Paper and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- The original Pear was masked and a second Pear was stamped also with Versamark ink and heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
- The Pears were colored with Small Blending Brushes using Crushed Curry and Old Olive inks.
- The Pears and the Sides of the Focal Panel were masked, leaving a (1¼”) space.
- Using another Blending Brush, Balmy Blue ink was added for the vertical Cross Strip.
- The Side Masks were removed and one of the Foursquare Decorative Masks was positioned in place.
- The Side Masks were lined up again and the stenciled pattern was added with Azure Afternoon ink using a Sponger Dauber.
- All Masks were removed.
- The sentiment, Birthday Wishes, from the Sending Smiles stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and also heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
- The Panel was trimmed to (3¾” x 5”) and added to the card base with Dimensionals.
Do you prefer Bartlett or Bosc Pears? I like both. A great gender-neutral birthday card.
