Welcoming Woods – Thinking of You this Season

Welcome back!  It is almost the end of the month and I still have a few challenges that I have not yet had a chance to play with…

Today’s card was inspired by Jingle Belles (#2313) with a Masculine theme, choosing the suggested Facebook June SU! Colours for this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#414) Sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • The Snowflake Cluster image from the retired Welcoming Woods stamp set were added to the card front edge with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Focal Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Using a torn piece of Copy Paper as a Mask, Fresh Freesia ink was added with a Blending Brush to the center area.
  • Turning the Mask, the Night of Navy ink was then added to the top of the area for a Night Sky, also with a Blending Brush.
  • The Bare Tree image, also from the Welcoming Woods stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • Some shadowing was added to the Snow area with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend Marker.
• Sentiment Labels: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of you this Season, from the retired Winter Woods stamp set was stamped twice with Night of Navy ink.
  • The sentiments were then cut apart and trimmed to create two labels.

The focal panel was adhered to the card base and the sentiment(s) were popped up with Dimensionals to resemble the sketch.

A very serene holiday card suitable for any man.
