Postcard From the Beach – With Love, Just Because I am Thinking of You

Design Time at Cardz 4 Guyz (#325) and the challenge this fortnight?  A CAS (clean and simple) card.

If fact there are quite a few CAS challenges about at the moment and a few with a similar theme…so, here is what I was inspired by: Tic Tac Toe (#214); Just Us Girls (#685); AAA Cards (#243); Heart’s Quest (#32) and I picked the colors suggested by Paper Craft Crew (#523) to create my card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Gray Granite cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3⅞” x 5¼”) Gray Granite cardstock.
  • The Father and Child image from the Beside Me stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Pewter Embossing Powder.
  • The image was stamped again onto a Post-It-Note with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy-cut with Paper Snips to be used as a mask.
  • The Lighthouse and Birds images from the retired Sailing Home stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Pewter Embossing Powder.
  • The Scene was die-cut with the largest Rectangle die from the On-Line Exclusive Radiating Stitches Dies set.
  • The Scene was colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  Colors used: Man’s T-Shirt – Real Red, Boy’s T-Shirt – Balmy Blue, Boy’s Hat – Azure Afternoon, Man’s Hair and both sets of Shorts – Pebbled Path.  Additionally, the Skin was colored with the Ivory Stampin’ Blends Marker.
  • The sentiment, With Love, from the Country Bouquet stamp set was stamped with Real Red ink.

The completed panel was adhered to the card base and the sentiment was framed with two Basic Gray Classic Matte Dots.

A walk on the beach with Dad is a great vacation activity.  Lessons taught with love won’t be easily forgotten.
