Welcome back! Snagging a little time in the Studio in between a few chores…
A little while back, Stampin’ Up! created a series of webinars for new Demonstrators called Creating Connections. You have your Kit, but now what? As part of getting started, challenges are given to participating new Demos and it is always recommended that you start simply – especially with easy, clean sketches. A great way to use those new supplies.
Anyhow, a challenge was issued to all Demonstrators to create a card using one of three Simple Stamping Templates and I chose Number 5 for a bit of a Stepped-Up version.

I created a Birthday card using the new Cheerful Daisies Bundle (Stamp Set & Matching Dies) for Happy Little Stampers (June) and selected the colors suggested by Creative Colour (#91).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Orchid Oasis cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Black and White Cross-Hatch patterned piece of paper from the retired All Together Designer Series Paper pack. Don’t be afraid to use what you have.
- Color was added to the patterned piece of paper using a Brayer and Parakeet Party ink.
- Rectangle Panel: (2¾” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
- Two Flower Stems were stamped with Parakeet Party ink.
- The panel was then dry-embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.
- Circle Shapes – Flowers: Basic White cardstock scraps.
- The Large Daisy Outline image was stamped with Orchid Oasis ink.
- The Large Daisy In-Fill image was stamped with Melon Mambo ink.
- The Flower Center image was stamped twice, in two directions, with Orchid Oasis ink.
- The Small Leaf image was stamped with Parakeet Party ink.
- The Flowers and the Leaves were die-cut with the coordinating dies.
- Sentiment Label: (2¼” x ¾”) Orchid Oasis cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, Wishing you the brightest birthday, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Sentiment Label and one of the Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals. A length of Basic White Baker’s Twine was added under the Sentiment Label as suggested.
Bright and Colorful for Bright Birthday Wishes.
