It’s Tuesday! Design Team Challenge for Hand Stamped Sentiments (#415) and this fortnight it is Color! It would be great if you decide to play along too.

For this card, I chose the theme from Shopping Our Stash (#497) and the sketch from Atlantic Hearts (#527).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Balmy Blue Diagonal Striped piece of patterned paper from the retired Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper pack.
- Accent Mat: (3¾” x 2½”) Mango Melody cardstock (retired color) from my stash bin.
- Accent Panel: (3½” x 2¼”) Petal Pink Cross-Hatch patterned piece of paper from the retired Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper pack.
- Tag: (2⅛” x 1½”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the smaller Stitched Rectangle die from the Nested Essentials Dies set.
- A Tag Hole was punched with a (¼”) Hole Punch.
- The sentiment, Celebrate Your Day, from the retired Hello Cupcake stamp set was stamped with Balmy Blue ink.
- A (3”) length of retired Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon was colored with the Mint Macaron (retired color) Stampin’ Blend Marker and threaded through the Tag Hole and tied off with a bit of Basic White Baker’s Twine.
- Focal Image – Cupcakes: Frosting – Petal Pink Heart patterned piece of paper from the Country Floral Lane paper pack and Paper Cup – Mint Macaron/White patterned piece of paper from the Design a Daydream paper pack.
- The Cupcake image from the Circle Sayings stamp set was stamped directly on to the patterned papers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. One Cupcake was popped up with Dimensionals.
I certainly shopped my stash for a lot of the items used in this cute, sweet birthday card. Mixing up patterned papers is a great way to add interest to your cards.
