Botanical Layers – Thinking of You

Welcome back!  I am home again and trying to catch up…

Playing with the Facebook Colour INKspiration (#142) colors and the Tuesday Morning (#705) sketch for a clean and simple card for the Addicted to CAS (#237) Monochrome scheme.  A little dry embossing for Can You Handle the Pressure (#30) to create the window element from the sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Shimmery White cardstock (now retired but still in my stash).
  • The (2” x 3⅜”) Rectangle die from the On-Line Exclusive Radiating Stitches Dies set was adhered in place with Temporary Tape.
  • Soft Succulent ink was added to a (4¼” x 5½”) Acrylic Window Sheet.  The ink was sprayed with water using the Stampin’ Spritzer.
  • Color was added to the cardstock within the open Rectangle die area by pressing the wet ink onto the paper and patted dry with a Paper Towel.
  • The Temporary Tape was removed and the Rectangle die was turned over and then dry-embossed using the Big Shot Machine and the Big Shot Embossing Mats.
  • The Leaf image from the Botanical Layers stamp set was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink into the framed window.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of you, from the retired Beautiful Thistle stamp set was stamped with Smoky Slate ink.

The completed panel was adhered to the card base.  A small strip of retired Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon was added under the sentiment.

A clean and simple monochromatic color scheme makes this a perfect card for any occasion and or person.
