Friendly Hello – Best Birthday

Playing in the Studio today.

I started with the Facebook Colour INKspiration Challenge (#113).  The colors Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, White, Black and Gold were rumbling around in my head…

I took a look at the new Sale-a-bration FREE Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper pack colors which included: Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo, Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Crushed Curry.  Light bulb moment!  Flirty Flamingo instead of Polished Pink, downplay the Very Vanilla as it is almost White and substitute Crushed Curry as it is pretty much a Gold color.

DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

That settled, I chose the current Sketch from Freshly Made (#517) which sports five (5) shapes and a clean and simple design and for the Theme, I chose Inspire, Create (#107) Birthday.

Here is the result:

FRIENDLY HELLO – COLOR 7 CONTOUR – DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP – FMS517 – ICC207 – CI-113 – HLS CAS January

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel (4” x 5¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.  The sentiment, Hope you have the BEST BIRTHDAY, from the FREE Sale-a-bration Friendly Hello stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • Grounding Panel: (3½” x 2¼”) Basic White cardstock.  Smoky Slate ink was added to the panel with a Blending Brush and then the Splatter Spot image from the Color & Contour stamp set was added.  The panel was then die-cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
  • Focal Image – Five Shapes:  From the multi-colored floral-patterned piece of paper from the FREE Sale-a-bration Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper pack, the Daisy, the Daffodil, the Echinacea, the Aster and the Poppy blossoms were fussy cut with Paper Snips.  The Flirty Flamingo printed color was intensified by coloring the center of the Daisy and the petals of the Echinacea and Aster with the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend.  The Flowers were arranged and adhered to the Grounding Panel.

A few Brushed Brass Butterflies were added for a touch of Gold and interest.  A sweet and subtle Birthday card.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
