Artistically Inked – Happy Birthday

Another dark and rainy day…should be prepping for a class…but I wanted to play…

The weekly Stampin’ Through the Catalog stamp set choice today is Artistically Inked.  Mixed this up with my interpretation of the TGIF Sketch Challenge (#329) and the current colors in the inspiration photo over at Just Add Ink (#567).

Here is the result:

Steps:

I wanted to create a #simplestamping card that fell within the clean and simple (CAS) category.  To wit, I flipped the TGIF Sketch 90 degrees to accommodate the longer sentiment with in the Artistically Inked stamp set.  The theme of flowers and the three colors, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake were my take-aways from the JAI photo.

• The Floral image was stamped twice with a slight rotation using Calypso Coral ink onto a piece of Basic White cardstock (3¼” x 2½”).  The Flower Center and Scattered Dots were stamped with Crumb Cake ink.  The Leaves were added using Bermuda Bay ink.
• I chose a Crumb Cake cardstock accent mat (½” x 2¾”).
• The sentiment, Happy Birthday, was stamped onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock (2¾” x ½”) with the Bermuda Bay ink and matted with a Crumb Cake accent mat (3” x ⅝”).
• To balance the bright Calypso Coral color, I opted for the bright Bermuda Bay color as the card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”).

A very easy and simple card to create, perfect for a novice stamper.
