Free As A Bird

Keeping up with my “work”.  “Work” is subjective and mine includes the pleasure of crafting, hanging out in the Studio and generally making a mess…that is until I put everything back in it’s place.

So two more combined challenges:  Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#518) for the sketch and Colour INKspiration (#105) for the color scheme.

Here is the result:

FREE AS A BIRD – STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES – HARVEST DIES – TIMEWORN TYPE EF – TSOT518 – COLOUR INKspiration 105

Steps:

  • Right Block Panel: (4⅜” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.  The Birds image from the Free As A Bird stamp set was stamped with Sahara Sand ink onto the panel.  Using Mango Melody, Fresh Freesia, Old Olive, Ivory, Bronze and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, I colored the scene.  Details were added with the Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker.  The image was then die-cut from the center of the panel with one of the Scalloped Edge Rectangle (4⅛” x 2⅞”) dies from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies set.  The remaining frame of the panel was then dry-embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Side Panel: (⅞” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.  The panel was also dry-embossed with the same Embossing Folder and a string bow was added using the retired Old Olive Linen Twine that I still have in my stash.
  • Sentiment Label: (1⅞” x ¾”) Fresh Freesia cardstock scrap.  The sentiment, The world needs…, from the same stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment was then die-cut with the small label die from the Harvest Dies set.
  •  Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock for a tone-on-tone look.

Another soft and subtle card.  The finished card is giving me serious Easter vibes with the use of these colors.  With that said, I want you to know that all of you “Peeps” are necessary to me and my little world!

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Jolanda, LOVE your card!!! I just saw the Time Worn embossing folder in person for the first time today and fell in love with it. The scalloped rectangles dies are beautiful, too! Thank you for sharing your wonderful card with us at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!!! -Donna
