Needed one of these today…
I chose the Mojo Monday #552 sketch created by Julee Tilman from Poetic Artistry and a color combination from The Spot for Inspiration Challenge #148.
Here is the result:

I started with the Patterned Paper. I chose the Night of Navy and White floral pattern from the Sale-a-bration selection: Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper. The white flowers were colored Green and Pink. Using Stampin’ Blends, Soft Sea Foam for the Green and a combination of Light Pink Pirouette (retired) and Light Calypso Coral I was able to approximate the Pink color. Next, I selected the White spotted Night of Navy 2018/2019 Neutral pattern (retired) that was still on my desk (from a previous card I had created) and colored the white dots green with Soft Sea Foam.
Putting it all together, I opted for a Night of Navy card base and a back panel in Soft Sea Foam cardstock dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and picked Petal Pink for the smaller vertical strip as a color break between the Night of Navy patterns which was dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
For the focal image (circle), I created the Flower and Leaves with stamps from the Painted Poppies stamp set. Petal Pink, Night of Navy and Soft Sea Foam inks on to a scrap of Basic White cardstock. I could have used the companion Poppy Moments Dies, but I wanted a close cut and it was very quick for me to fussy cut.
Keeping the coloring soft, I stamped the sentiment from the Inspiring Iris stamp set in Night of Navy on to Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The flag was created using the Banners Pick a Punch. I added a little sponging to the edge of the banner with a Sponge Dauber so that it would pop against the color-on-color overlap.
Never fun to create sympathy cards but I hope you like my design. Change the sentiment and you have a very pretty card for a happier occasion.
Sincerely, Jolanda
I chose to enter this card in the Water Cooler Wednesday – WWC306 Feminine with a Twist Challenge. The soft feminine colors are so very pretty.
